Further to a 9pm watershed on all ads for High Fat, Salt and Sugar (HFSS) ads to be introduced by the end of 2022, the government wants to go further and has launched a six-week consultation on how it can implement an outright ban of HFSS ads online. The consultation closes on 22 December 2020.
The proposed ban would have a huge impact on all parts of the digital advertising supply chain, affecting media owners, ad tech companies, agencies and brands. For more information about the proposals, view our FAQs.
