As Pride month begins and brands worldwide turn their attention to supporting LGBT+ communities, IAB UK brings together some members for a look at how the digital advertising community can best support LGBT+ people who work in the industry, how brands can give visibility to LGBT+ people in an authentic and meaningful way, and what digital platforms, publishers and ad tech suppliers can do in Pride month - and year round - to support the Pride cause.

Megan Clarken

Chief Executive Officer, CriteoMegan Clarken is the Chief Executive Officer at Criteo, the global technology company powering the world’s marketers with trusted and impactful advertising. Having previously spent over 15 years at Nielsen, leading initiatives that allowed the 90+-year-old company to adapt and prevail in a time of change, Megan brings a transformative mindset to Criteo. Dubbed “one of the most important figures in media” by Adweek, Megan has also been recognised in the 2020 HERoes 100 Women Executives List, 2019 National Organization of Women: Women of Power and Influence and the 2016 Multi-Channel News: Wonder Women, showcasing her ability to transform and maintain businesses, while also remaining a champion for underrepresented groups in media. Originally from New Zealand, Megan has held senior leadership positions for large publishers and online technology providers in Australia, including Akamai Technologies and ninesmn.
Emy Mendoza

Business Director, MindshareEmy is the Co-Chair of Mindshare Pride and Director of Events at Outvertising. Emy has made it his mission to drive the right representation of the LGBT+ community in advertising and to create diverse and safe workplaces for the community in the media industry. Emy loves setting up events to bring the community together to discuss the issues we face in modern society, challenge the status quo and seek solutions to drive equality. Emy was a Top 10 LGBT Inspirational Leader in the British LGBT Awards in 2018 and was featured in the OUTstanding LGBT+ Future Leaders Role Model List 2020.
Bruna Gil

Ad Tech Channel Lead, EMEA & LATAM, LinkedInBruna Gil leads Ad Tech Channel sales for EMEA & LATAM, driving the growth of LinkedIn's Marketing Partner Program in these regions and developing strategic partnerships with LinkedIn’s top Ad Tech partners. With a background in media and tech companies, her previous experience includes advertising, mobile, market research, and B2B content marketing. Bruna is also the Regional Lead for out@in (LinkedIn’s LGBT+ network), leading chapters across EMEA and LATAM. She is a member of the Advisory Board at Career Accelerator and Ambassador for LBTQWomen.org. Bruna has been recognized by OUTstanding in the Financial Times and Yahoo Finance as a top LGBT+ Emerging Leader. She was shortlisted by the British LGBT Awards under the Diversity Hero category and featured in the DIVA Magazine Visible 100 list.
Annabelle Wright
Software Test Engineer II, XandrAnnabelle Wright
Software Test Engineer II, XandrAnnabelle is on the board for Xandr’s LGBTQIA+ group serving as the events and programming coordinator. She advocates for initiatives that bolster inclusion of trans and nonbinary teammates such as inclusive hiring tactics, accessible private healthcare options, and easy to navigate HR systems for name changes. Driven by a supportive team, she facilitates educational conversations on the trans experience in the professional workplace. Annabelle was inspired by the pandemic to take an active role in producing intersectional events for Xandr employees in the virtual space.
Asad Shaykh

Head of Brand, Pride in London & Strategy Director, Grey LondonAsad specialises in crafting brand and social strategies for brands within the business, technology or culture space. Having practiced marketing globally for two decades, both client and agency side, his experience, coupled with MA x MBA acumen, helps him grow these businesses into culturally relevant and commercially successful brands.
Previously, Asad has worked in UK, US and EU, on wildly diverse brand challenges ranging from crafting a bespoke digital strategy for HSBC, to launching Coca- Cola’s most successful market entrant across social in 2018.
Currently, Asad is also serving as the Head of Brand for Pride in London, working towards defining and implanting the entirely new set of brand and organisational values of Visibility, Unity and Equality.
