Event Overview
This event is hosted by Wiggin
Wiggin is delighted to invite you to join our team on the 14 May to discuss corporate and tax law essentials for ad tech start ups.
The morning will comprise two short talks with attendees leaving with an understanding of the fundraising process from start to finish and the tax reliefs available to individual investors as well as the options available to early-stage companies when it comes to incentivising staff outside of their salary package.
There will also be plenty of time to network and catch up with your peers, as well as ask our experts any questions you may have.
Registration is essential - no walk ins will be admitted.
We hope you can join us, and look forward to seeing you on the 14 May!
Agenda
You’ve got an investor, now what? What to expect when fundraising for the first time.
This talk is aimed at founders and management teams who have secured an agreement in principle with a third party for investment in their company. It will give guidance about the fundraising process and what is required to get all parties across the line to complete a successful funding round. It will also provide an outline of the key tax reliefs investors might seek under the Enterprise Investment Scheme and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme and their respective eligibility criteria.
How do you incentivise your staff (beyond wages…)?
Employees are often drawn to working in early-stage companies because of the opportunity to help a new and exciting business grow. In exchange it's fairly typical for those employees to be allowed to participate in that growth in some way. This talk will give you some guidance as to what options are available for incentivising staff in the UK and the benefits of each, including using equity, employee share option schemes and other alternative methods of delivering value to employees.
Networking
An opportunity to catch up with your peers over a coffee and ask our experts any questions you may have.
