Google launches Youtube production studio in India

Google has announced the launch of a new Youtube production studio in India to tap into the creativity of its users in the country.

The Youtube Space is being run in partnership with one of Asia's largest film schools, Whistling Woods International, which is located at the heart of Mumbai's film and television production hub Filmcity.

This will give India's Youtube creators access to high-end audio, visual and editing equipment, as well as training programmes, workshops and community events.

"We're already in advanced stages of setting up the place and we’ll be opening the gates for all creators soon," said David Macdonald, head of YouTube Spaces in Asia Pacific.

Youtube recently celebrated milestones for its Indian creators AIB and TVF, which attracted over a million fans within two years on the platform.

There are already Youtube Spaces in Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, New York City, Sao Paulo and Berlin, which have been visited by creators over 100,000 times.
