House of Lords publish IAB submission to ‘Future of News’ inquiry

In our submission to the inquiry, we provided context around the ad-funded model that supports media provision

In January, the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee opened an inquiry into ‘The future of news: impartiality, trust and technology’.

Though digital advertising was not explicitly in-scope of the inquiry, we submitted a response on behalf of IAB members to provide context to the Committee on the ad-funded model that supports media provision.

The submission sets out how digital advertising plays a role in helping to support a diverse UK news environment and using data from our Digital Dividend report, explains how the industry delivers value to the UK economy, businesses around the country and the vast majority of people who depend on free digital services every single day.

You can download our submission in full below. We expect the commission to publish a report later this year.
