Instagram launches kindness initiative

Instagram has launched a new kindness campaign to accompany new updates to its privacy settings.

Image-sharing app Instagram has announced the launch of new campaign centred around kindness and building a caring community for its users.

In a blog post, it was revealed that walls across the world will be painted with murals that keen snappers are being encouraged to visit and take a photo with, before posting it on the app with the hashtag #KindComments. New heart-shaped 'stickers' that can be added to photos have also been released as part of the campaign.

The idea behind this is that it will help to raise awareness of Instagram's commitment to making the app a safe and kind place for users.

Brands might want to join in with the #KindComments initiative themselves to show that they too are committed to creating a safe and fun community for their Instagram followers.

The launch of #KindComments accompanies the announcement that Instagram is also rolling out an anonymous reporting feature for live video viewers, as well as new comment controls.
