The Role 

This newly created role is designed to accelerate our retail media offering and establish the IAB as a leading authority in this fast-growing area of digital advertising. 
 
The successful candidate will drive engagement, growth & innovation across our Retail Media Community while establishing IAB UK as the go-to organisation for retail media expertise in the advertising industry. 
 
This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports but does require close collaboration across all IAB UK teams as well as high-level management of key partners and external stakeholders.  
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop & execute a strategy for retail media that aligns with the IAB’s mission, strategic goals and values 
  • Lead & grow the IAB’s retail media community (currently ~60 members) fostering collaboration between members and ensuring active participation from retail media owners & networks, platforms, publishers, ad tech, agencies and advertisers 
  • Drive membership growth by identifying and onboarding new retail media & commerce businesses  
  • Position IAB UK as the authoritative, leading voice on retail media by developing thought leadership content and contributing to industry discussions inc. with other IABs, trade bodies and relevant organisations 
  • Represent the IAB on relevant stages, platforms & forums to showcase our expertise and influence 
  • Work with internal IAB owners to enhance our retail media programme by developing thought leadership content and ensuring presence across IAB events and communications 
  • Be a passionate & vocal champion of retail media and our retail media members within the IAB 

Skills, knowledge & characteristics 

  • In-depth understanding of retail media, retail media owners & networks and their relationships with ad tech, agencies and advertisers 
  • Proven ability to build, maintain and deepen relationships with senior stakeholders 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.  Experience of speaking at events, moderating panels and delivering presentations to high-profile audiences. 
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is skilled at working cross-functionally with internal teams 
  • Passionate interest in digital advertising and retail media, staying up to date with developments and actively contributing to industry conversations. 
  • Proven record of leading & delivering high-profile projects & initiatives 
  • An inquisitive and creative thinker with an innovative, growth mindset
