The 12 trends to watch, 12 tips to increase sales - an e-guide
There are two things certain in the UK retail market this Festive Season: more people will choose to shop online and technology will continue to change how people shop. The UK has Europe’s most dynamic e-commerce market, and according to IMRG, e-commerce sales grew by 16% in 2016. Last year’s e-commerce gains were driven by purchase on smartphones, which accounted for a total of 54% of all online sales. IMRG and Cap Gemini are predicting a 14% increase in e-commerce overall this Festive Season.
Along with the growth, comes the need to more holistically market to shoppers who move across devices and channels as they research in one channel and buy in another. Retailers and brands are wise to solidify plans for Festive Season commerce marketing early to develop best practices that work for the chaotic and competitive times ahead.
Criteo, which represents a growing network of 15,000 advertisers across the globe and reaches 1.2B shoppers per month — one-third of all internet users in the world — has unique insights based on Festive Season shopping data from 2016. In 2017, Criteo conducted the Shopper Story, a survey that focused on changing retail patterns and preferences. In the UK, Criteo works with retailers such as Tesco, Argos, ASDA, Debenham’s, Curry’s and PC World. Analysing shopper behaviour, search terms, and millions of shopping carts, we offer twelve commerce trends that will light up the 2017 Festive Season.
