Instagram Stories could be coming to Whatsapp, thanks to Facebook

Both the rivalry and collaboration between the world's biggest social media platforms is being turned up a notch, as Facebook is reportedly looking into bringing the Instagram Stories feature to Whatsapp for the first time.

TechCrunch - which got its insights from a source based in Brazil - reports that following Facebook's move to incorporate Instagram Stories into its own platform last October, it is now exploring how it can also bring the function to Whatsapp, giving users more ways to create, post and view this content than ever before.

As the Stories feature offers similar functionality to Snapchat, this is another example of the lines between the social giants becoming increasingly blurred, as each strives to create the ultimate in visual, messaging and sharing options.

A spokesperson for Facebook commented: "We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you."
